THE PIRATE PRINCESS
Based on the folktale “The Pirate Princess,” this new musical follows Raina, a young princess thrust into adventure when she escapes her palace life with Adin, a prince from a foreign kingdom. When Adin is captured, Raina suddenly finds herself alone in the real world for the first time. Forced to develop a new set of skills, Raina unexpectedly becomes a pirate, frees a band of kidnapped women, and leads them on a mission to rescue her prince. With a new sense of purpose, Raina is able to empower the band of women to fight for themselves, and, consequently, find their way home. Though Raina discovers an affinity for her newfound power and freedom, she is plagued by the fear that even once she finds Adin, she may never be able to return to life the way it was before. This two-act musical, featuring a whimsical, swashbuckling, and romantic score, is an adventure suited for all audiences.
